Here’s some thoughts:
- We are out of chocolate. I’m a firm believer in always taking your time eating chocolate. Never eat a piece in a rush. Relax and enjoy it. However, if we are out I can not relax and enjoy it.
I’m not really a mean person, but like anyone else I tend to occasionally think mean thoughts. I was challenged in small groups to detect what it was that I was threatened by. Meanness is always caused by a threat you feel. The trick is finding the threat and then cutting it out.
My problem is that I find it difficult to determine the distinction between anger and meanness.
Is it mean to get angry and then snap at the person in your head? All while keeping a calm and collected look of course. Throughout today I would get mad at someone being rude to the teacher, and would immediately get angered. Problem is I couldn’t find a threat. I wasn’t feeling threatened by this person, I just felt so bad for the different teachers.
However, when it was just being straight up mean, the threat detector did work and I easily distinguished it by handing it over to God. When you observe the threat, you realize how stupid it is. So, I thought that was a cool way to keep myself leveled throughout the day.
